Human character progress

This is how my character model is going so far. I’m making this for my Character Design course at UW. It was supposed to be a private detective, now it’s more of an homage to the M. Hulot character in The Illusionist.  It was modeled in 3ds Max, and now it’s ready for texturing and detailing in Zbrush.  One day I’m going to rig this character in Maya, and have some fun with it!

The Voodoo Master

The base model for this character was created by @zujuy. I just modified in some parts the geometry, the overall proportion of the head, arms, and created a new texture. Painted some skin details in the face, arms and legs, and tried to simulate some muscles in the body. This fella is going to be on a 3D/2D game I’m developing with some friends. I wanted to paint/sculpt more details on Zbrush, but he’s going to be too small on the screen to check out that kind of detail.  He’s also still in bind pose, except for the jaw and teeth. Done with Maya, Zbrush and Photoshop.

Game concept design

There’s been great progress on the mobile we are making.  The team is just a coder friend and I.  I don’t want to reveal much of the mechanics and interactions, because it’s not fully defined yet. But I’m posting a concept design of a fully rendered 3D building inside the game.

Music

Inspired by another design found in a blog. The legend says: This is what music looks like. Is a campaign to induce young adults to listen to instrumental music, whereas Classical, Jazz, or Folk.  I don’t know how much of that is at the design, but at least it projects color and motion.

This was made for a Publicity class in Illustrator and Photoshop.
